Nā Maka 'o Lahaina is excited to announce the confirmed dates for community members who would like to participate in a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in partnership with Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). 

CERT training helps equip everyday people with the skills needed to step up during emergencies—especially in those critical moments before first responders can arrive. 

What you will learn over this 6 session series:

DISASTER PREPAREDNESS - Understand hazards, risks, and how to prepare for emergencies.

BASIC FIRST AID - Learn life-saving skills and basic medical care.

FIRE SAFETY - Know how to prevent & respond to fires.

LIGHT SEARCH & RESCUE - Learn how to safely find & assist those in need.

DISASTER PSYCHOLOGY - Understand how to support yourself and others during stressful situations.

COMMUNICATIONS & TEAMWORK - Build confidence, work together, and be a part of a stronger, more resilient community.
